Great Lakes Stevedoring (GLS), a subsidiary of Quebec Stevedoring Ltd. (QSL), has recently relocated its offices to Pier 24.
GLS Hamilton is one of 19 locations for the QSL group, and it will be promoting its services from this location in addition to marketing the Eastport lands as a strategic location for the movement of project cargoes.
GLS has a strategic focus on steel and the general cargo sectors and will be expanding its reach in Hamilton to the bulk markets, intent on generating additional volume for the Port of Hamilton.
“We are delighted to have Great Lakes Stevedoring make a long-term commitment to the port and are excited about the new business and value they add,” said Hamilton Port Authority vice-president Ian Hamilton.
GLS has the ability to shuffle assets and operate from multiple locations in the port, and will continue to build its already strong relationships with the wind energy and heavy-lift sectors.
QSL has developed TrackingCargo and Virtual Terminal, both software and Internet applications to plan cargo storage in facilities and on dock and to communicate with customers to provide inventory and other cargo control features.
