Joyce Carter, vice-president of finance and CFO for the Halifax International Airport Authority, has been elected the new chair of the Halifax Gateway Council, replacing Stephen Dempsey, president and CEO of the Greater Halifax Partnership.
Ms. Carter was elected to the top post at the council’s annual meeting. In addition to Ms. Carter, others elected or re-elected to the board for one year were: past chair, Mr. Dempsey; vice-chair, John Hamblin, president, Clarke IT Solutions; Wesley Armour, president and CEO, Armour Transportation Group; Paul Brigley, CFO, Halterm Container Terminal Ltd.; Nancy Conrad, senior vice-president, policy, Halifax Chamber of Commerce; François Hébert, vice-president, network strategies, CN; Sidney Hynes, Oceanex; Patricia Lyall, Destination Halifax; Brian Murray, president, Fastrax – Day & Ross Transportation Group; Karen Oldfield, president and CEO, Halifax Port Authority; Doug Rose, president and CEO, Halterm; Tom Ruth, president and CEO, Halifax International Airport Authority; Steve Snider, general manager and CEO, Halifax Bridge Commission; David Darrow, deputy minister, Nova Scotia Transportation Infrastructure and Renewal; Michel Doiron, regional director general, Transport Canada; Dan English, chief administrative officer, Halifax Regional Municipality; Stephen Lund, president and CEO, Nova Scotia Business Inc.; and Debbie Windsor, vice-president, Nova Scotia, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
